AI for economics tooling

Embedded research infrastructure, dashboards, white-label SaaS.

Summary

The thought-machine architecture generalizes. Give an in-house economics team the same stack that runs the consultancy's own platforms: async data collectors across 30 plus sources, a causal-inference toolkit, narrative engines, and embeddable dashboards. White-label or build-for-them.

What we do

Most enterprise economics teams have the analysts, the budget, and the data subscriptions. What they often lack is the integrated research infrastructure: the data collectors that pull and cache and reconcile across BACI, IMF, FRED, World Bank, OECD, MLPerf, and EIA; the causal-inference toolkit that ships 12 estimators with reproducible figures; the narrative engine that drafts the memo; the dashboard layer that makes results legible to non-economists.

The consultancy builds and installs these systems. The reference implementations are public (Aegis, Delphi, EconAI, Sisyphus, Hercules, the various observatories). Engagements adapt these for client needs, install on client infrastructure or hosted by the consultancy, and include knowledge transfer and a follow-up support retainer.

Methods

  • Async data collector design (retries, caching, schema validation)
  • Causal-inference module integration (OLS, IV, Panel FE, DiD, RDD, DML, Causal Forest)
  • Dashboard architecture (D3.js v7, Deck.gl v9, MapLibre)
  • LLM-augmented research narrative pipelines (Anthropic SDK)
  • Reproducibility infrastructure (replication packages, pinned versions)
  • API design (FastAPI, REST, JSON-LD)
  • Self-hosted or SaaS deployment patterns

Public data partners

  • Architecture for connecting CEPII, IMF, World Bank, OECD, BLS, BEA, EIA, FRED
  • Integration with Anthropic, OpenAI, Hugging Face APIs
  • Optional licensed feed integration (SemiAnalysis, ICE, S&P)

Deliverables

  • Working deployment on client infrastructure
  • Documentation and runbook
  • One knowledge-transfer session, three follow-up hours
  • Source code and replication package
  • Optional ongoing support retainer

Sample engagements

  • EconAI toolkit installation inside a multilateral research department.
  • White-label dashboard for an industry association's member analytics offering.
  • Custom observatory build for a country research program.
  • Aegis-style 18-layer applied economics framework adoption for a bank's research team.
  • Self-hosted Argus instance for an asset manager's risk function.
