Think tanks and policy shops

Quantitative bench, replicable methodology, and platform tooling for the policy research community.

Framing

Policy research organizations (Peterson Institute, CSIS, Brookings, Council on Foreign Relations, Asia Society Policy Institute, NBER affiliated centers, regional Federal Reserve research departments) combine academic rigor with timely public commentary. The internal capacity for primary-source panel work and counterfactual simulation is uneven, and most are open to external collaboration on specific projects where the methodological depth or computational infrastructure exists outside the building.

This consultancy collaborates with policy researchers on three modes of work. First, named studies that become joint publications under both names. Second, computational infrastructure that an institution can adopt for ongoing work (EconAI, digital twin, observatory pattern). Third, peer review and replication support for high-profile work where independent verification matters.

Engagements are typically modest in dollar value but high in reputational compounding for both sides.

Decisions we inform

  • Co-authoring or contributing to a high-impact policy paper.
  • Adopting a causal-inference or digital-twin platform for institutional research use.
  • Independent replication of high-profile published or in-draft work.
  • Building a public-facing data dashboard tied to a research program.
  • Standing up a joint working paper series across affiliated institutions.

Named offerings

Co-Authored Study

Joint named study tied to a defined policy question. Publication under both the institution's and the consultancy's banner.

Methodology Toolkit Adoption

Twelve to sixteen week build to install and customize EconAI, the digital twin methodology, or the observatory pattern inside a research program.

Replication and Audit

Two to four week independent replication of a published or in-draft analysis, with a written audit memo.

Public Dashboard Build

Eight to twelve week public-facing dashboard tied to a research program, leveraging the consultancy's D3.js, Deck.gl, and FastAPI stack.
