Md Deluair Hossen, PhD

PhD economist and post-doctoral researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Operator of a 13-platform production research stack that powers every Deluair Consultancy engagement.

Role

Post-doctoral research associate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The post-doc is the academic anchor: peer-reviewed research, dissertation committee ties, and continuing work in international trade and demand systems. Deluair Consultancy is the active commercial vehicle, structured to take that research output to enterprise buyers (private equity, hyperscalers, utilities, trade associations, multilateral agencies) without the latency of academic publication. The two roles run in parallel, by design. The university affiliation supplies legitimacy and access to data and seminars; the consultancy supplies the deadline, the deliverable, and the decision.

Expertise

PhD in applied economics with a concentration in international trade, demand systems, and computational methods. Peer-reviewed work covers the Rotterdam model for international wine demand, hedonic pricing and dual-estimation Rotterdam for Vietnamese wood trade, EASI demand for food consumption, and beef demand systems. Trade work uses BACI at HS6 resolution (238 countries, 5,022 product lines, 30 years), gravity models, product-space and economic-complexity diagnostics, and DiD-style identification for tariff pass-through.

Current focus

The deluair monorepo runs as the active research engine behind every consultancy deliverable. Thirteen platforms, all in production: Aegis (applied economics intelligence, 18 layers, 257 modules), Argus (macro-financial risk observatory, 285 modules, 124 risk models), Athena (AI and computational economics observatory), Ceres (food and agricultural economics), Salus (health economics), Promethean (renewable energy and transition), Sisyphus and Hercules (curated WDI panel warehouses), Strategos (Bangladesh 2026 election intelligence with 300 constituency agents), Hermes (multi-channel AI messaging gateway), Axioma (49 interactive economic-theorem visualizations), Delphi (research toolkit with 17 estimators), and EconAI (the causal-inference and figure-generation toolkit).

Working preferences

Fixed-price engagements with written scopes. Weekly status updates throughout the engagement. Full replication packages on delivery: code, data, notebooks, and a methods memo any third party can audit. Real sources for every number, or an explicit "we do not know." No invented data, no mock figures, no fabricated case studies. Remote-first from Knoxville, Tennessee on Eastern time, with flexibility for European morning and Asian evening overlap. US green card holder, no visa sponsorship required, available for global engagements.

How to reach

Route all inbound through the /engage form on this site. Briefs are reviewed within two business days, and qualified requests move to a 45-minute fit call covering question, data, and decision owner. Public surfaces for ongoing work: @DeluairHossen on X for daily research threads and brief releases, and github.com/deluair for the full open-source code base behind the production stack.
